A Vegas-style video poker game called ‘5 Card Touch’ for iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod touch has officially been announced by Griffin Technology. The first in a series of applications that Griffin plan to offer through Apple’s App Store website, the game will be available for download directly onto iPhone, giving users the convenience of accessing the game at all times, even when iPhone is in Airplane Mode. That fast-paced game stakes the player at $1,000 in virtual money and keeps tracks of stats like winnings, hands played and won. To play, players have to bet between one and five credits, then hit Deal to begin a new hand. The touchscreen lets you tap the cards to be discarded and another tap lets you draw to get new cards. The amount won is determined by the amount bet and the final poker hand dealt, with a Royal Flush earning the most points and Jacks or Better winning the minimum prize. Available for download at Apple’s App Store, the 5 Card Touch is priced at $1.99.
